Young Voter Engagement & Mobilization Pilot Program

The Youth Voter Engagement & Mobilization (YVEM) program is a pilot within the LWVUS Young Voter Registration Project, which aims to directly support, equip, and train 20 local Leagues to strengthen and diversify their voter registration and GOTV efforts with young voters

Overview

The Youth Voter Engagement & Mobilization (YVEM) program is a pilot within the LWVUS Young Voter Registration Project, which aims to directly support, equip, and train 20 local Leagues to strengthen and diversify their voter registration and GOTV efforts with young voters by incorporating a data-informed, relational organizing strategy, digital outreach technology, and leadership development framework.

Each local League has outlined their project plans and goals that reflect the needs of their community. To maximize and support local LWV grassroots young voter registration programs, the pilot program will specifically support in three core areas:

  • Creating intentional, lasting connections among young voters & LWV via LWV digital tools
  • Establishing and equipping trusted messengers among young voters via a relational organizing strategy
  • Automating GOTV tactics and follow-up

Program Outline & Deliverables

Each pilot participant will work directly with an LWV organizer to support the three outlined core areas. By the end of the pilot, each pilot League would have:

  • Created a League In Action (powered by OutreachCircle) account for their local League
  • Attended the pilot program orientation
  • Attended at least one biweekly admin training
  • Attended at least one specialized training offered by the LWVUS Organizing Team
  • Met with their assigned organizer at least two times
