For Leagues: Draft Comments to ATF on the Definition of a Firearms Dealer

Leagues can modify and submit comments to ATF using the attached template. Deadline: December 7th.

LWVUS has produced draft comments for Leagues to modify and submit to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on its proposed rulemaking on the definition of when a person is considered “engaged in the business” as a dealer in firearms. This rule would ensure that individuals who offer firearms for sale online or at gun shows are licensed to do so, complete background checks before transferring guns, and maintain records of those transactions. Comments are due December 7th and can be submitted here.
