The LWV Climate Interest Group is managed by individual League volunteers and not LWVUS Board or staff. Climate Change was established as an urgent issue by the 2020 LWVUS Convention attendees; however, the priority focus of the organization and national staff remains the democracy issues within the Campaign for Making Democracy Work®.

The LWV Climate Interest Group does not act on behalf of LWVUS but collaborates with LWVUS advocacy staff on major federal climate policies. Leagues at the state and local levels that wish to take action on specific federal legislation must use the Federal Action Request Form to consult with LWVUS regarding these actions.
